During the contractual period of the employer, the obligation

The Hong Kong government stipulates that overseas helpers of any nationality must have a monthly salary of not less than HK$4,630.00 (starting from September 28, 2019), and there is no need to pay double wages or bonuses at the end of the year.

The term of the overseas helper contract is two years, calculated from the date of arrival in Hong Kong, and there is no probationary period.

The employer must arrange free meals and accommodation for the domestic helper.

Employers must purchase labor insurance and provide medical benefits for foreign domestic helpers.

Foreign domestic helpers are entitled to one holiday per week; 12 labor holidays per year;

Seven days of paid annual leave can be enjoyed after working for one year, that is, a total of 14 days of paid annual leave can be enjoyed in the first two years of contract.

Thereafter, it will be increased by one day each year, up to a maximum of 14 days of paid annual leave.

When the foreign domestic helper's contract expires or every two years of work, the employer needs to pay for the foreign domestic helper's one-way air ticket to go back to the country for vacation.

If the domestic helper has served the same family for five years, if the employer no longer employs the foreign domestic helper, the employer shall pay the foreign domestic helper a long-term service fee.

If the employer dismisses the foreign domestic helper, it needs to give the worker a dismissal letter, one month's notice or pay in lieu of notice, annual leave salary and one-way return air ticket.

If the domestic helper resigns, the employer needs to give the employer a one-month notice or pay in lieu of notice, and the employer also needs to give the domestic helper a one-way return ticket.
